Just wanted to share that my first first-author paper is now online! In the journal Stem Cells and Development, here’s my paper on “Roles of Integrins in Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Growth on Matrigel and Vitronectin.”
Wow… the more things change, the more they stay the same, eh?
Paradoxdruid’s Rants is now restored. I made a mistake on the forum– It’s cooler software, but it doesn’t have the heart (or the accessibility) of our good ole’ fashioned blog.
Welcome back, and may the posting resume!
I do like the accessibility of the blog (and I’m very happy that the linkdump is back), but there are a few things that I’d like to address:
* Under “Last Comments,” could you make it post the date (and maybe time) that the last comment was posted, and not simply the time as it is showing now? The time displayed without the date seems rather… silly.
* Could you make profiles of registered users here as you had on the forum? (Or at least copy and paste people’s roll call postings?)
* Any way to show who’s currently on the blog as you could see on the forum?
And that’s pretty much all I can think of to complain about right now… Also, my username/password doesn’t seem to exist anymore (or I’ve, um, forgotten them), so maybe you could restore that, please? Thanks, PD 🙂

Teisha - January 4th, 2005 at 11:45 amThanks for the advice, Teisha!
I posted the roll-call, which was a good idea. I don’t think I can actively show who’s online (which some posters may consider a blessing).
I remember having some trouble with displaying dates on the recent comments, but I’ll play with it more later.
Meep!
Paradoxdruid - January 4th, 2005 at 11:58 amOh, I thought to mention one thing:
I’m still working out how to display it differently, but if you move your mouse-cursor over the names of the posters in the “Last Comments” section, it displays the date and time of the comment. just FYI. 🙂
Paradoxdruid - January 10th, 2005 at 9:21 amWow, that’s great — especially adjusting for time zones!
Teisha - January 10th, 2005 at 10:32 amI don’t know if this is happening for anyone else (and I am using a library computer), but right now all the right frames (“The Forum,” “Calendar,” “Last Comments,” etc) are slightly overlapping the middle section, where the new posts go, so that part of the new post heading and number of comments link is a little blocked. Anybody else having this issue? Maybe I should look at it through my home computer next time to see if it’s consistently flawed…
Teisha - February 16th, 2005 at 10:11 amI’ve noticed this issue, as well, and it seems to be related to Internet Explorer not properly formatting the CSS code. I’ll check into the pivotlog.net forum and see if there is a known fix (besides getting a browser which works right).

Just read a fascinating (if lengthy) essay on disruptive technology and the future of scientific publishing. Well worth the read!
Just wanted to share Mint.com’s Visual Guide to Deflation, which is quite explanatory.
Hey all Paradoxdruid readers! I recently started up a blog on stem cells that I’d love you all to take a look at: http://www.allthingsstemcell.com/
I participated in another Barely literate book review podcast, this time on Nicholson Baker’s “The Fermata”. Give it a listen!
Obama has outlined a strategy for America, in great depth. Read all about Change.gov!
Okay, I’ll admit that it’s entirely possible that I am the last person to learn about this website*, but it’s really addictive.ÂÂ
