Retouched

Glenn Feron is a professional photo retoucher, and his Before/After images are both creepy and fascinating.

One Response to “Retouched”

I admit I was looking at these pictures for a while… they are quite disturbing. Often times I think we get caught up thinking that models and such “naturally” look like they do — skeletons with eyeshadow. Although they actually do look like this to an extent, touch-up work really exaggerates it — it’s rather amazing to me to see those “extra” pounds literally disappear, and perfect make-up manifest where there was none at all. I know this is nothing new, but it’s really sad to me how people are almost proud of the unrealistic and unobtainable picture of “beauty” or “desireability” they portray to people, especially our youth… And we wonder why our country has so many eating disorders.
