Moving Time

So, it looks like Teisha and I might be moving soon… really soon! Though its price tag is a little high, we’ve fallen in love with a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment down the street from us. Update: Photo Gallery Time!

It’s a second-story unit with no other apartments in the building (little pillar, with storage and stuff below us), so we have windows in three directions. More importantly, the windows in the living room and the master bedroom both open up to Ellwood Preserve & Butterfly Sanctuary. Truly beautiful.

We’re going to meet with the agents and look at the contract tomorrow morning. Whee! Excitement!

Here’s some photos to get you drooling… You can find the whole set right here.

*sniffle* You, you… commented!

Just for that, I’m going to take a butt-load of pictures for you to peruse. 🙂

I lurk at least once a day…you just never post anything I have comments about 😛

Wow! That looks like a really nice place. It makes me think of how exciting it is to move into a new place – all the possibility. 🙂 What’s their pet policy?

ShortSpeedFreak - April 24th, 2006 at 10:35 am

Yeah, the possibility is exhilarating. *sheepish grin* I made cut-outs of our furniture on graph paper, and laid out the new place, so I’ve been playing with possible arrangements.

Their pet policy is “no dogs or cats”. We have, in writing, permission for our assorted cages, terrariums, and aquariums. Also, the Apartment Manager apparently loves pets, and has quite a few– enough that the agent we were working with commented on it. I don’t think we’ll have any problems. What’s the Habitat’s pet policy (you’re still living there, right?)?

The Habitat Apartments in Boulder, CO. 🙂

Um, two uncaged animals (ie, we have two cats, so we can’t have any additional cats or dogs) and, it would seem, unlimited caged animals. We have a hermit crab tank and a small aquarium. Our friend, John, has 7 guinea pigs in two cages. There’s also pet rent for uncaged animals, though it’s the same whether you have one or two.

And I love the Habitat! Even though the name is stange, admittedly. I thought about making cut-outs of the furniture before we moved in . . . but I proved to be too lazy. When do you guys move? Also, Jim wants to know why you took a picture of your dishwasher. 🙂

ShortSpeedFreak - April 25th, 2006 at 6:36 am

… Can’t live without a dishwasher any longer! 🙂

We’re moving this weekend. I’m really excited. Luckily we’ll have a lot of friends (two with trucks!) to help us load everything and drive down the street and carry it up the stairs. I still think it’ll be more space than we really know what to do with… we’ll actually have our bed in a different room than the computers — quite an amazing thing! 🙂

teisha - April 25th, 2006 at 8:27 am

You’ll have to post pictures of the place furnished, you know, some nice before and after shots. 🙂 Jim and I have been very lucky in that we never had to live in a one bedroom, though you guys have a different set of circumstances. But hurray for separate computer room!

How many pets are you guys up to now? Andrew made it sound like more than the rats and lizards that I knew about.

ShortSpeedFreak - April 26th, 2006 at 10:14 am

Oh, I agree– we definitely have to provide some “After” pictures to compliment the “Before”s. 😀

We have.. *drum roll please* Two bearded dragons, two rats, 1 crested gecko, 1 Betta, 3 Guppies, lots of crickets 😉 , and occassionally, whatever else Teisha sneaks home, like house geckos, snails, etc.

Plus, we’ll probably be getting a parrot (The aviary Teisha used to work at wants to give her a present… a thousand dollar present!). I hope it doesn’t drive me batty. But it’s supposed to be a quiet bird. Right, Teisha?

And incidently, all a separate computer room means to me is that my laptop will be on the bedside table. Heehee.

Paradoxdruid - April 26th, 2006 at 1:55 pm

Correction: It’s not a thousand dollar bird — it’ probably more around $400-800, depending where you look. Luckily, senegals are known for being quiet, good apartment parrots. Probably won’t be here for a few months though…
