Just wanted to share that my first first-author paper is now online! In the journal Stem Cells and Development, here’s my paper on “Roles of Integrins in Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Growth on Matrigel and Vitronectin.”
I spend quite a bit of my internet time (and mental activity, so it seems) reading, posting, and thinking about roleplaying games. They’ve always been one of my favorite hobbies. For posterity, I suppose, and in the interests of posting something to this weblog, I thought I’d showcase the extent of my madness.
Here are some search results that display just how much time I spend on RPG.net, my net hideout of choice (871 posts so far!).
Some of my favorites:
So.. yeah. I like roleplaying games. I currently own ~400 of them, with a retail (not resale, sadly) value approaching $9,000. But at least it keeps me happy and keeps my mind active, I guess.
*sniff* *sniff* just rub it in…my measly 6 RPG books are sitting on my shelf gathering dust and scornful looks.
Mallorn - August 22nd, 2006 at 3:14 pmHehe… rub it in you say? How about this: I’m in a weekly roleplaying group that hasn’t missed a week since… *looks in emails* …the beginning of March. 😀
Matter of fact, we just had a good session tonight– though it was bittersweet. One of our players graduated in the Spring, and is moving to San Diego, so it was his last session.

Paradoxdruid - August 22nd, 2006 at 9:04 pmNo fair! Weekly sessions??!!
Life’s been pretty good. A few little dramas, nothing very exciting. I’m going to DC over Labor Day though — pretty excited about that 😛 How bout you, other than your excessive amounts of enviable role-playing?
And yes, I did receive your call and have been meaning to call you back but….yea, I’m lazy. You’ll get a random phone call from me someday!

Just read a fascinating (if lengthy) essay on disruptive technology and the future of scientific publishing. Well worth the read!
Just wanted to share Mint.com’s Visual Guide to Deflation, which is quite explanatory.

I participated in another Barely literate book review podcast, this time on Nicholson Baker’s “The Fermata”. Give it a listen!
Obama has outlined a strategy for America, in great depth. Read all about Change.gov!
