Damn you, Andrew

Hey, that sorta rhymes!

Anyway, Jenny read “Public Enemies” a book about John Dillinger, Baby
Face Nelson, the Barkers, Bonnie and Clyde, and all those other 1930s
outlaws.  And when she was telling me that Nelson was shot a
ridiculous number of times by high-calibre sub-machine guns, and then
twice in the legs with buckshot, before shooting an FBI agent right
between the eyes from across the road, then got away and lived for two
days, I thought, “Hmmmm, endure pain, 80+, handguns, 80+.”And when she said that he was a psychotic freak who tended to shoot women
and children my little mind said, “Oh, so all his hardened-violence
notches are filled up.”  That’s right, Baby Face Nelson, the UA
character!  She said a lot of the people in the book were really
amazing at certain things (Dillinger got shot to shit, too, and kept
walking).  Interesting book.

Speaking of UA, I got a used copy of UA 2nd Ed for eighteen bucks, after shipping, that should be arriving this week.

i think this is what people are worried about when they talk about video games et all distancing kids from the real world 😉

I don’t know what all you people have a problem with– I’m not distanced from reality (notices reality receding from him, like a pan-out on a camera) Hmm. Maybe you have a point.

>-) Got you, Owen.

I still think about stating out characters in books and moives in a variety of games. Of course I think I am prone to being distant from reality

Sometimes I make a smartass comment after a movie, like “Oh, he must have a lot of archery charms!” or “Goodness, charm must be her obsession skill!” However, when it’s met by a serious discussion of what the character’s actual stats might be . . . I run in fear. 😉
